UNESCO - MAB Biosphere Reserves Directory
The ArabMAB network encompasses 33 sites distributed in 12 countries. It embraces a diverse arena of habitats, conserving natural, semi-natural and man-made ecosystems including forests, savannah, desert, oasis, wetlands, rivers and agricultural terraces. Each of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in the Network is a small world per se where people live in harmony with the natural world and their neighborhood. Biosphere reserve is a space holding all sorts of wonders from plants and animals that keep the web of life rolling and the interconnectedness between sentient beings and the landscape alive. It is a vital place for companionship whereby local communities strive to protect their lands and conserve all sorts of ecosystem services for both human existence and well-being.
